While writing a story, my daughter asked how to spell “dessert” so I explained the age-old trick of remembering that “dessert” contains two “S”es (instead of one like the word “desert”) because you always want more than one serving of dessert! Especially when it comes to waffle dessert pizzas with maple almond butter frosting…

The Maple Almond Butter Frosting is just two ingredients (plus a pinch of salt)! Pretty easy and tasty for a dairy-free frosting. This is full on flavor and dare I say, better than the maple glaze on donuts!

For the WAFFLE DESSERT PIZZA, just take leftover Unbelievable Blender Waffles, toast the halves in the toaster, spread or drizzle with this 2-ingredient frosting then top with fresh or thawed frozen fruit. Voila! Easiest dessert or a great snack!

Waffles are perfect carriers for berries or chopped fruit because of their little pockets. They are destined to be dessert pizzas! Plus, my blender waffles are only sweetened with a few dates so you can feel okay adding some homemade frosting.

You can change these waffle dessert pizzas up with different fruits or nut butters. Use what you have on hand!

Maple Almond Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 pt almond butter
  • 1 pt pure maple syrup
  • pinch sea salt

Instructions

  • Heat ingredients over low heat until warm. Stir frequently. 
  • Drizzle on everything! Enjoy!

Notes

Use the best quality ingredients you can find! 
This can also be made in microwave if in a pinch. Microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds. Stir. Repeat until mixed.
